| Boiler Commissioning & Servicing |
what happens?
- Boiler flue output analysed
- Pipe work inspected, with ventilation and clearance check
- Full testing of all boiler components and functionality
- Disassembly and cleaning of key components
- Inform you of any boiler components that are faulty or nearing end of life
- Make sure that the boiler is running at optimum efficiency, using the correct equipment required to do the job
The latter may seem obvious to some, but just a quick brush out and a wipe down of the casing does not constitute a service. .. at best something simple may well have been overlooked, at worst failing to find a problem that could have been found, if a proper service had been carried out, may prove to be fatal!
The nozzle on the left came from a Worcester Danesmoor, the customer thought it was around 10 years since last serviced by a qualified engineer/technician - While on one hand, you may think it saved money not having to pay for annual servicing, but you will be paying it out in running costs.
The nozzle is a very important part of you oil boiler, an example would be to think of an ordinary spray can, a fine mist is emitted when pressed. The nozzle in your boiler sprays a fine mist of oil (atomization) which can be ignited during the combustion process - this is done by the oil being pumped under very high pressure to the nozzle, which is machined to exact tolerances to give the correct amount of fuel and spray pattern, to burn at optimum efficiency ....anything less than this (and dependant on how long it is left) will certainly be wasting fuel, (and money) and in extreme cases, risks premature failure of the boiler components....or far worse, endanger life!

Photo's below are of the baffles from the same boiler, these are 'plates' of steel designed to disperse the heat around the water jacket of the boiler, the nozzle above caused the problems below, to replace these baffles cost over £60.00 for a worcester Danesmoor.

The adverse condition of combustion, caused by nozzle wear, incorrect fuel/air mix, was rectified by the fitting of new baffles & nozzle, followed by resetting the pump pressure & air setting, had the boiler back running at optimum efficiency.
We are not suggesting that because you did not have your boiler serviced for over a year, it would be the same as above, it is information for your benefit ...and piece of mind, so we recommend that you do have your boiler serviced at least once a year.

Equipment necessary for setting the boiler up to run as the manufacturer intended, for performance & efficiency.

If you think about it, you probably use your boiler as much (if not more) than your car, you want your car to give you the best mpg possible, at the M.O.T test, your cars efficiency is tested as part of the test, if its too high, it will fail the test.
We do pretty much the same efficiency test on your boiler....and ensure that it is giving you it's best!
We can service your oil boiler for as little as £65.00 (including nozzle) book your appointment and start saving money!
